History GEEKS in theWoods

GEEKs in the Woods is not a club or a formal organization...well, not yet. We are just a bunch of teenagers who don't mind putting down our PS3, Wii or IPOD on a whim to go outside for some adventure.  Well, now we don't. You see, once upon a time a group of my friends and I were hanging out around the house talking about how great the scenery and locations are in video games. We were mourning the fact that we couldn't really go there. My mom, who is like this Eco-guru passed by and said, "Show me what you are talking about."  We did and Mom was like, "I know where that is. Want to go?"  We were like, "Yeah, right."  But we humored her and to our amazement, she actually took us to some places that were even more incredible than our virtual lands of fantasy. We were hooked. At first it was like a mission of discovery...to follow the maps of images in our virtual world to find the REAL thing. Now, we just like being outside. It is so retro!

             Our Charter

Some genius' got together and created video games. These genius' took places they'd seen and created virtual places. A generation came along and played video games. We loved it...but somewhere along the way virtual became reality. Then we realized that somehow virtual just can't replace reality all of the time. Don't settle for the shadow...find the object in the sun and revel in it!!!!!

Our Club Officers

There are no officers, only instigators!
But, if we did have them we'd probably elect Jack Handy as president because he is such a deep thinker!

I think a pillow should be the peace symbol, not the dove. The pillow has more feathers than the dove, and it doesn't have a beak to peck you with. "Deep Thoughts" by Jack Handy

I hope if dogs ever take over the world, and they chose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas.." Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy
